I’ve made a few different mounts now, but this is my fave one…..everything I needed was lying about my garage, so basically it cost naff all….& the beauty about it is that it can be panned around by twisting the pipe shaft – although I’m currently working on a device to pan it through 360deg remotely, while seated.
I had an old VHF antenna mount lying around, so it has been fitted to the forward hatch of kayak.(prowler 13)
A couple of hose fittings, for connecting everything up, & to allow the shaft of the mount to swivel
The orange tap connecter has been araldited into the mount fitting, & a length of 25mm heavy duty pvc conduit has been araldited over the nozzle of the hose fitting.
All connected together.
It works quite well, is very solid & removes in seconds.
